​How do you price your work?

 

Translation is charged per word in the range of €0,10 - €0,25 depending on the level of content and its complexity. If, for example, the translation is for a simple flyer or poster then this will be at the lower end of the range. However, if, for example, it is for a technical report, thesis, or contract, then this will be charged at the upper end of the range given the more complex vocabulary and additional work this entails.

Transcription is charged at a rate of €1 per audio minute. Additional charges may apply if the audio is of very poor quality.

Subtitling is charged per audio or video minute in the range of 4€ - 11€ depending on whether a transcript is provided or if translation is required. Additional charges may apply if the audio or video are of very poor quality.

Proofreading and copyediting services are charged per word in the range of 0,03€ - 0,11€ depending on the extent of corrections and editing required. For larger projects, an hourly rate can be discussed.

Please note that for translation or proofreading and copyediting services, an additional charge may be applied for documents provided in PDF format, given the additional time required for correct formatting.

**Large projects of 7,000 words or more require a partial payment in advance**

How long is the turnaround time?

 

This largely depends on the length of the document or audio/video file as well as my capacity. If your project is urgent, please indicate this when you send your request and we can discuss an appropriate timeline.

What is the process from sending a request to receiving the completed project?

 

Once your request has been sent through the website, you will receive a response within a maximum of 24 hours. You will need to provide either a final version of the text, audio, or video file so that I can provide you with an accurate quote and turnaround time. After approving the quote, work can begin immediately.

 

Please note that any changes to the original document sent after the quote has been approved will incur additional charges as per my standard fees. 
 

Once completed, the project will be sent back to you for approval. Reasonable changes and edits are permitted, at no extra cost, and once a final version has been sent to you then you will be issued with a final invoice.

 

The invoice must be paid within a maximum of 30 days by bank transfer or PayPal to the account information provided.

Do you accept urgent work?

Yes. Additional charges may apply depending on the turnaround time required and the length of the document or audio/video file.

How do I pay?

 

I accept payment via bank transfer (Revolut Business) or PayPal.

Can I pay in another currency than euros?

 

Yes. I accept payment in EUR, USD, and GBP. Other currencies may be available on request. ​

Do you also do English to French translation?

    

Depending on the topic and the complexity of the project, I am also able to provide English to French translation. The cost is the same as for French to English translation projects. Please contact me with a sample of the document or audio/video file.

 

What are your areas of expertise?

 

I have a background in law and several years of experience in the humanitarian and health sector. As such, I specialise in language services for NGOs and other organisations working on topics such as harm reduction, infectious diseases, sex work, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and migration. 

 

Given this experience, I am extremely conscious of the need for clear and appropriate vocabulary when publishing materials in these areas. I strive to provide concise, readable, and appropriate content, thereby ensuring that important information is spread more widely and has maximum impact in as many contexts as possible.
